Three killed, 40 injured in road accident in Tappal area

Three persons were killed and around 40 injured on Tuesday in a road accident in Tappal area of Aligarh district bordering Gautam Buddha Nagar district.

Three persons were killed and around 40 injured on Tuesday in a road accident in Tappal area of Aligarh district bordering Gautam Buddha Nagar district.

The injured have been admitted in Greater Noida and Jewar hospitals, police said. The accident took place near Siarol village when a pick-up van carrying a group of labourers from Garula village collided head-on with an approaching truck, which too carried labourers.

According to the police, Chhote Lal, 65, and Dharamvir Sharma, 45, died on the spot.

Naresh Kumar, who received serious injuries, was rushed to Kailash Hospital where he died during treatment.

A Bolera car was also hit in the process. Praful Kumar, an engineer, was critically injured. He was rushed to

Palwal and admitted at a hospital there.

"The injured labourers were admitted at Kailash Hospital and Jewar's Jain Hospital. Around 15 people were at

the hospital till late evening, while the rest were discharged after treatment," said a police officer.
