Three masked men robbed a government-run bank of Rs 3.90 lakh at gunpoint in Sohna and critically injured a customer on Thursday morning.
Police said the robbers fired five shots in all and injured one Shree Pal who tried to overpower them inside the bank.
Around 11.30 am in Indree village near Sohna, three masked youths parked their Pulsar motorcycle outside Gurgaon Gramin Bank. While two of them entered the bank, the third one stood guard outside.
Shree Pal had come to the bank with his wife to withdraw money. He tried to overpower one of the robbers when the robber took out his pistol and fired two shots in Pal’s chest.
Police said the robbers then moved towards bank manager M K Gupta and ordered him to hand over all the money. The robbers took Rs 3,90,272 from cashier Ashok Kumar and walked out of the bank.
While leaving the bank, they fired in the air once again inside the bank and twice outside the bank to ensure a secure exit, police said.
According to the police, the robbers had first gone to the office of Agriculture Society, which is adjacent to the bank.
