Three students drown in Periyar river in Kerala

Three 12th standard students of a lcoal school, who went to take a dip in the Periyar river at nearby Kochangadi Kadavu this evening, drowned, police said.

Three 12th standard students of a lcoal school, who went to take a dip in the Periyar river at nearby Kochangadi Kadavu this evening, drowned, police said.

The boys had gone to bathe, as they did not have classes in the afternoon in view of the Ayodhya verdict.

The three were students of Crescent Higher secondary school at nearby Thottumugam.

Hearing their cries, local people rushed to their rescue, but they could not be saved.
