The maximum day temperature dropped by few notches across Himachal Pradesh as several areas were lashed by thunderstorm and hail.

Thunderstorm and hail lashed the state capital Shimla and its surrounding areas.

The sky also remained heavily overcast, reducing the visibility considerably.

Some areas in lower hills of the state were also swept by strong velocity winds accompanied by showers, causing marginal drop of two to three degrees in day temperature.

The high altitude tribal areas and other high mountain peaks in Kangra, Kullu, Lahaul and Spiti and Kinnaur and Shimla districts received a fresh spell of mild snowfall, causing fall in mercury.

Guler and Nurpur in Kangra district registered 5 mm rainfall, while Dharamsala, Nagrota Surian, Gaggal and Kalpa recorded 3 mm each.

The maximum temperature dropped from 36.2 deg C to 32 deg C in Una, which remained hottest in the region.
