Time for Parthiv to make amends

Parthiv had a poor Test with the gloves in Chennai. But I maintain that he is a much better keeper than that, writes Sourav Ganguly.

If that be the case, I feel very reassured going into the third Test of the series 0-1 down. And that is because we hardly put a foot wrong in the second Test at Chennai.

I am not the one to gloat over past records, or brood over setbacks. I believe when things are not going your way, one has to keep moving forward to turn the corner. This is what we successfully did in Chennai.

Rain on the final day did rob fans of an absorbing finale, but for Team India, it was a huge step forward.

We held the upper hand for the better part of four days, and but for Damien Martyn's great knock, we would have levelled the series on the fourth day itself.

It was an exceptional innings in trying conditions. Not many teams and batsmen have stood up so gallantly in the face of adversity on sub-continent wickets as Martyn and Australia did.
