Is the puffiness around your eyes adding years to your age? If yes, then here are a few quick fixes to encourage fluid build-up in the tissues around the eyes.

Dark and puffy eyes are a result of sun damage and blood flow from capillaries in that area. Poor and undernourished diet and lack of sleep are other reasons. So, it’s very important to have a nutritional diet and have adequate amount of sleep.

Puffy eyes can also be due to water retention in the body, so salt intake after 6 pm should be avoided or regulated.

Place cold tea bags under your eyes as they will give your stressed eyes the rest they need, and the anti-oxidants present in tea helps soothe them.

Application of cold raw milk with cotton swabs can be a great coolant for under eyes.

Potato juice is the most well known remedy for puffy eyes.

Mixture of papaya and curd can also soothe and help lighten the under eye.

Keep a check on your alcohol intake, as excess alcohol intake can lead to water retention. Alcohol causes the blood vessels to dilate and pump more fluid into surrounding tissues. This also gives you the bloated feeling under the eye.

Use two pillows to keep your head elevated while sleeping. Fluid accumulates under the eyes if you sleep with your head down.
