To avoid fine, stick to your lane on expway

The police have also asked the authority to install signboards which will help drivers stick to their lanes.

“We held a meeting with NHAI on Wednesday and they have directed the concessionaire company DS Construction to complete the work soon,” DCP (traffic) Bharti Arora said.

“It has come to our notice that heavy vehicles don't follow the lane driving and block other vehicles which often leads to accidents. Due to this, there are frequent jams on NH-8, also known as the expressway. We have directed the company to mark the extreme left lane for slow moving vehicles while the right lane be left for fast moving vehicles,” she added.

“In Gurgaon, commuters don't know which lane to take. Also, the respective agencies have not demarcated any specific lanes. So before fining violators our job is to educate them first,” the DCP said.
