Tom Cruise's has reportedly bought a home in West Sussex, England, where Scientology - a religion made famous by the Hollywood star - has its base.

Scientology leader David Miscavige, who was Cruise's best man at his marriage to Katie Holmes, motivated him to buy the house, ananova.com reported. L. Ron Hubbard, founder of the controversial sect, lived at Saint Hill Castle in West Sussex for seven years.

The actor has apparently spent a modest £2.5 million on the six-bedroom mansion. Cruise's new house has an underground garage, an indoor swimming pool, a sports pavilion, a games room and a state-of-the-art greenhouse.
