MNS chief Raj Thackeray, has told him to remove his ornaments and tone down the dazzle. Wanjale, who won from Pune’s newly carved out Khadakwasla constituency, is the sole MNS legislator from western Maharashtra

During his campaigning, Wanjale moved around wearing three thick gold chains, one had the party symbol — railway engine dangling from it — three bracelets on each wrist and a gold watch.

Wanjale had said he wanted to retain his ‘trademark’ even in the Assembly. But after meeting MNS chief Raj Thackeray a day after winning, he said, “After the swearing-in ceremony, I will remove all the jewellery as per instructions by Raj saheb to whom I have given the power of attorney for my life.”

He had declared movable assets worth Rs 73.33 lakh and immovable assets worth Rs 3.06 crore. His wife, Harshada, had also campaigned for him wearing gold ornaments.
