Too cold for kids? Delhi Govt shuts primary schools

THE MORNING chill has ensured that pre-primary and primary students of schools run or aided by the Delhi government, or by the MCD and the NDMC get an extended winter break. The government has ordered all of them to remain closed till Saturday. Private schools have been advised not to hold primary classes.

THE MORNING chill has ensured that pre-primary and primary students of schools run or aided by the Delhi government, or by the MCD and the NDMC get an extended winter break. The government has ordered all of them to remain closed till Saturday. Private schools have been advised not to hold primary classes.

Vijay Kumar, director (education), said, “We have asked all our schools to suspend classes for students in nursery to Class V. Private schools have been advised to suspend their primary classes.”

Some schools like Delhi Public School (East of Kailash and Vasant Vihar) have decided to reopen on Monday instead of Friday as scheduled earlier.
