In a setback to Hizbul Mujahideen outfit, police on Sunday shot dead one of its top self-styled commander along with his aide in an encounter in Pulwama district.



The self-styled financial chief of the outfit Farooq Ahmad Dar alias Haneef Khan and his aide Javid Ahmad Malik were killed in a 20-hour-long firefight at Noorpora-Tral in the district that ended today, Deputy Inspector General of Police in-charge South Kashmir H K Lohia said.
