From Saturday, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) would start construction work for the eight elevated stations of the proposed Mukundpur-Shiv Vihar corridor on two arterial roads - Road No. 56 and 57 A - in east Delhi. Commuters heading especially towards Anand Vihar and Ghaziabad would be most affected.

A total of eight elevated stations - Karkardooma, Karkarduma Court, IP Extension, Vinod Nagar, Vinod Nagar East, Trilokpuri, Pocket 2 and Mayur Vihar Phase 1 - will be constructed during the next two years, said DMRC officials.

"We have planned adequate traffic arrangements to facilitate motorists and pedestrians as well as the construction work. No buses will be allowed on Trilokpuri Road. Buses on route No. 327 coming from UP Link Road and heading towards Trilokpuri will be diverted through Sadbhawana Road and terminate at Mayur Vihar Phase-1 terminal," said Anil Shukla, additional commissioner of police (traffic).
