His debut was a solo hero project, Mujhe Kucch Kehna Hai, with Kareena Kapoor in 2001. It was an average grosser but that didn’t stop Tusshar Kapoor from signing a spate a films — a privilege most Bollywood star sons have.

Since then, actor Jeetendra’s son and telly queen Ekta Kapoor’s brother has had several important projects to his credit, including hit multi-starrers Khakee, Kya Kool Hai Hum andGolmaal. Sadly, most of his solo projects — Kyaa Dil Ne Kahaa and Kucch To Hai — have been unlucky at the box office.

But one film that seems to have done wonders for his career is Rohit Shetty’s Golmaal, where he stood apart despite the presence of stalwarts like Ajay Devgan, Arshad Warsi and the Rang De Basanti sensation Sharman Joshi.

"The success of Golmaal has instilled a lot of confidence in me. I want to now test my ground as a solo hero," says Tusshar who has several releases lined up for this year.

But, doesn't he think that it’s risky to do a solo-hero project?

"No, not really. Hum Tum was a solo-hero film and every second film cannot be a multi-starrer, can it?" asks Tusshar.

Tusshar also says that he's sick of playing a good boy for too long and is now keen on an image makeover.

"I am playing a negative character in Sanjay Gupta’s Shootout At Lokhandwala," says Tusshar.

Maybe that film proves to be a turning point in his career. We'll wait and watch!
