Accused Pradeep Yadav, who works with a news channel, allegedly rammed neighbour Sanjeev Kumar’s bike with his Pajero SUV in a bid to settle an old score.

Kumar had a narrow escape as he jumped off his bike but the scribe allegedly did not halt and dragged the motorcycle for 15-20 metres.

The victim suffered multiple injuries and was rushed to the civil hospital where his condition is said to be stable.

The accused was produced before a court on Saturday and was sent to 14 days’ judicial custody. According to police officials, the two are residents of Bhangrola village.

The incident took place on Friday when Yadav was going towards Gurgaon while Kumar was returning to the village.

“Yadav deliberately hit Kumar's bike head-on. Kumar somehow jumped from the bike and fell on the road. Later, hundreds of villagers and commuters gathered and informed the police. A police team arrested the accused on Friday night and produced him before the court,” said a police official.

Both vehicles have been seized and investigation is on, the police said.
