Two doctors suspended after woman's death at sterilisation camp in MP

A block medical officer and a lady doctor have been suspended and a four-member inquiry team has been formed in connection with the death of a woman at a sterilisation camp in Tikamgarh district.

Palera block medical officer (BMO) and a lady doctor have been suspended and a four-member inquiry team has been formed in connection with the death of a woman at a sterilisation camp organised at Palera Government Health Centre in Tikamgarh district on Thursday evening. Two other women are undergoing treatment.

Tikamgarh chief medical and health officer (CMHO) Dr PK Jain said that Palera BMO Dr CB Arya and Dr Madvi Sahu have been suspended on orders of health secretariat and a four-member team has been formed to inquire into the case and submit report within seven days.

The condition of the two women admitted at Gwalior and Tikamgarh is said to be stable.
