The IED's were recovered from a bus at Jhokabhangi in Dhubri district by security forces during routine patrolling last night.

In another incident, security personnel carrying out a search operation to nab an ULFA militant, suspected to be hiding in the area, came across a concrete bunker inside a bamboo grove last night at Pakamara village in Baksa district.

According to intelligence reports, four to five ULFA militants belonging to the outfit's 27th Battalion have sneaked Guwahati in two groups to carry out subversive activities before Independence Day to make a publicity impact as the outfit received a setback with two companies of its 28th Battalion declaring an unilateral ceasefire for holding talks.

A security alert has already been sounded throughout the state amidst reports of Bangladesh based Harkat-Ul-jehadi Islami (HUJI) joining hands with ULFA to create disturbances prior to Independence Day.
