At least two persons were killed and 22 injured, three of them seriously, when a bus fell into the Juri river on Thursday following a bridge collapse.

The bus, carrying about 50 passengers, fell into the river at about 7 am when a wooden bridge that it was crossing, collapsed, police said.
However, the number of passengers could be more because all of them were not ticket holders, they said.
The death toll might rise as the front portion of the bus was still under water. Some bodies might have been washed away by the tide of water.
Police said two bodies were recovered and of the 22 injured, condition of three was serious.
The deceased were identified as Sumit Chowdhury (30) and Priya Shil (6).
A recovery van of CRPF, fire tenders, rescue party of the state police and the Border Road Task Force (BRTF) have reached the spot but so far they have not been able to pull out the bus from the river due to incessant rain.
