Two killed as cars collide head-on near Raisen

Two persons were killed and six others injured - four of them seriously in a head-on collision between two cars near here, police said.

Four persons were in one car while equal number of them were in another when both the vehicles collided head-on near Sagar-Bhopal Road, 50 kms from the district headquarters, said Begamganj Sub Divisional Officer of Police Raghuveer Singh.

The deceased have been identified as Bhopal resident Meena Singh and Begamganj Food Inspector Rajendra Sharma, both died on the spot, he said.

One car was going from Bhopal to Tikamgarh while the other one was on its way to district headquarters, Singh said.

Six injured have been rushed to Bhopal for treatment, he said adding condition of four was critical.

A case has been registered and further investigations were on, he added.
