Two killed in West Bengal political violence

A worker each of the ruling Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) and the opposition Congress were killed in a clash Sunday in Burdwan district of West Bengal, police said.

A worker each of the ruling Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) and the opposition Congress were killed in a clash Sunday in Burdwan district of West Bengal, police said.

The incident took place at Ketugram village of Burdwan district when two groups clashed. The conflict started late Saturday and continued for the entire night.

"Local CPI-M activist Khelam Sheikh and Congress supporter Amin Shekh were killed in the incident this (Sunday) morning," Burdwan district police superintendent R. Rajshekharan said.

"Both were killed in an incident of crude bomb explosion," he said.
