Two Maoists have been arrested in Uttar Pradesh along with arms and ammunition, police said on Friday.

Virendra Mallah and Lal Bahadur were arrested Thursday night in Ballia, some 350 km from Lucknow.

“Six pistols, eight crude bombs and several live cartridges were recovered from them," police inspector Chand Hussain said in Ballia.
He said the two operated in Sonbhadra, Mirzapur and Chandauli districts and had links with Maoists in Jharkhand.
