According to police spokesman, militants fired upon Muhammad Rafi Malla, son of Ghulam Ahmad, a resident of Pahalpora, Shopian, when he was coming out from a mosque after Isha (late evening) prayers.

“The injured was shifted to the SMHS Hospital in Srinagar for treatment,” said the spokesman.

The police said the attack was followed by investigations and searches, which lead to identification of two militants “involved” in the attack.
