Two persons, including a former CPI (Maoist) area commander Bhola Singh, were shot dead by Maoists in separate incidents since in extermist-hit Patamda area of East Singhbhum district.
A group of Maoists struck first late Wednesday night gunning down one Amar Singh Sardar in Kokdro village, about 45 km from Jamshedpur, police superintendent Vavin Kumar Singh said on Thursday.
In another incident, the ultras shot dead one Bhola Singh, a former area commander of the CPI (maoists)at Koira Thursday afternoon, he said.
Bhola Singh's killing was a sequel over a levy dispute but the motive behind Sardar's killing was yet to be ascertained, he said. Sardar's borther, Sufal, who was a vegetable vendor, was gunned down by Maoists few months.
The district police has launched a massive combing operation in the area to track down the killers.
