"I offer myself for dope test and ask Sukhbir to also undergo the same in any laboratory," said Randhawa, a Congress MLA from Dera Baba Nanak in Gurdaspur district.

"And whosoever is found addicted to any drug, he has to quit politics," he said flaying Sukhbir for his remarks at a gathering in Patiala on Monday.

The Punjab deputy chief minister had said more than 70% of the Congress leaders were hooked to drugs.

Randhawa said Sukhbir’s remarks reflected his immaturity and insensibility towards a major issue of drug problem.

"The situation is alarming. Every family directly or indirectly faces problem relating to the drug menace in Punjab.

"The number of Punjabi youths in Army is decreasing because they are losing their physical fitness due to drugs," he said.
