Unidentified men open fire in Bihar court

Unidentified assailants opened fire and exploded a bomb while attempting to kill two undertrial prisoners at a court on Monday, police said.

Superintendent of Police ON Bhaskar said that three unidentified persons tried to kill gangster Rakesh Kumar alias Chunnu Thakur and Sudhir Singh when they were brought to the court for production before the additional district and sessions judge.

The attackers fired at the two undertrials from close range but missed. While fleeing they exploded a bomb triggering panic in the court premises, he said, adding that nobody was injured in the incident.

A pistol, a magazine and three live bombs were recovered from the place of occurrence, Bhaskar said, adding an abandoned motorcycle used by the assailants was also seized.
