Combined security forces were doing a search operation at Itham, when the suspected militants fired leading to a retaliation.

In the ensuing exchange of fire, an unknown armed person was killed on the spot, sources said.

The body has sent to the Regional Institute of Medical Science and Hospital for identification, sources added.
