Council speaker Azad Yadav had to adjourn the meeting several times to pacify the corporators. The Mayor in Council from March 9 last decided to supply water with a gap of one day to citizens in view of low volume of water available at the only source of water, Gambhir Dam. But the BJP corporators are opposing the decision alleging that the issue should come up at the council for discussion first.

Talking to Hindustan Times, corporator Sonu Gehlot charged the council board with falsely presenting a grim situation of water availability so as to achieve financial grants from the State Government. He said enough water was available to maintain daily supplies but the mayor and her associates were unnecessarily dragging the people to face hardships.
