THE UTTAR Pradesh Government and the South African Western Cape Region signed a short-term inter-regional agreement for promoting use of cutting-edge technology in UP’s farm sector.

State Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav and South African Western Cape Premier Ibrahim Rasool signed the agreement at 5, Kalidas Marg in the State capital, here on Saturday.

Speaking on the occasion, Rasool said that India and South Africa have already signed many bilateral agreements for joint co-operation in many sectors. “Like other developing nations around the world, South Africa too lacks in resources. In this context, despite resource constraints, Uttar Pradesh has made commendable progress for South Africans to emulate”, he said.

The CM, in his address, said that the agreement was a wonderful beginning of a long-term co-operation between the two regions for development of the farm sector in the State.

He said, “The Uttar Pradesh Government has made private sector one of the partners for development of the entire State. We are committed to make Uttar Pradesh ‘Uttam Pradesh’.”
