US not behind Natwar's removal: Mulford

"US is not involved since the entire matter is in the hands of UN and India," Mulford said at a meet-the-press programme.

The United States was not at all behind the removal of the then Indian foreign minister Natwar Singh, as alleged by the latter in the wake of Volcker committee report on oil-for-food scam, US Ambassador to India David C Mulford said on Friday.

"US is not involved since the entire matter is in the hands of the United Nations and India," Mulford said at a meet-the-press programme.

Mulford was in the state capital to attend a two-day seminar organised for Indian students by the US embassy.
