Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee returned to New Delhi Tuesday evening from Islamabad after a three-day visit to Pakistan to attend the SAARC summit.

Vajpayee landed in the technical area of the Indira Gandhi International Airport and drove straight to his Race Course residence without a ceremonial welcome.
Earlier, Vajpayee was seen off by Pakistan's Prime Minister Zafarullah Jamali at the Islamabad international airport.
Besides attending the SAARC summit, Vajpayee had breakthrough talks with Pakistani leaders during his trip, resulting in pledges to resume stalled dialogue next month.
Vajpayee held talks with Jamali and President Pervez Musharraf on the sidelines of the SAARC summit, the first between the two since dialogue broke down two years ago.
