According to officials, a valve at Karbala pump house at VIP road burst this evening resulting in the collection of water in the pump house. This has damaged three motor pumps installed here.

Later, additional pumps were brought from Yacht Club pump house and installed here. BMC officials claimed water supply was restored by the evening. This has affected water supply in areas connected to Idgah Hills Filtration Plant.

On the other hand, BMC administration had announced the shut down of the Kolar supply system from 3 am on Wednesday for repairing of more than a dozen leakages existing in this pipeline. About 65 per cent of City areas are dependent on the Kolar supply system.

BMC officials claimed water supply will be restored by Thursday evening. However, it is likely that the water supply will be partially affected on Friday as well.
