"The speech by Gandhi against the minorities is a planned conspiracy to spoil the law and order situation of the state and the Election Commission should take a stern view and initiate proper action in this connection," she said in a release here.

The BJP candidate has unsuccessfully tried to a vitiate the atmosphere but the state government is committed to maintaining communal harmony and would not tolerate any such attempts, she warned.

The BSP chief claimed that the utterances by Gandhi have only indicated the sentiments and ideology of his party towards the Muslims and it has exposed the real face of BJP.

"Perturbed over the waning public support, BJP leaders are issuing irresponsible statements to divide the people on religious lines," she said, adding that she had last month itself warned that BJP and other communal parties would make an attempt to create communal tension before the Lok Sabha polls.
