Veteran Gandhian Haranahally Ramaswamy passes away

Veteran Gandhian and Chairman of the Lok Shikshana Trust, Haranahally Ramaswamy, died here today at a private hospital after a brief illness, family sources said.

Ramaswamy, a former Karnataka Law minister, was 87.

He is survived by three sons, including leading advocate Ashok Haranahally.

Haranahally, also an educationist, was associated with Malnad Education Institutions in Hassan.

He has been the Chairman of the Lok Shikshana Trust for the past one decade. The trust publishes one of the leading Kananda dailies -- Samyukta Karnataka.
