Jagdish Nag, a veteran trade union leader and the president of the Rourkela Mazdoor Sangh, passed away on Wednesday after protracted illness.

Nag, 81, was a bachelor.
He had been the vice-president of the RMS for 35 years, between 1956 and 1991, after which he was made president.

Bedridden for the last two years, Nag lived in the RMS union office in the civil township.
The last rites are to be performed at Vedvyas on Thursday after his relatives arrive.
Hundreds of workers visited the RMS office to pay their last respects to the departed leader.
