STATE PUBLIC Works Department Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya will be chief guest at the Republic Day function to be held at Nehru Stadium from 9 am. He will take salute of the parade and hoist the national flag. The last rehearsal of the function was held on Wednesday.
After inspection of the parade, platoons of District Police, SAF, Home Guards, NCC, BSF and Scouts and Guides will take out march-past. This will be followed by cultural functions. Government departments will take out tableaux to showcase their progress, an official release said.
Meanwhile, the district administration has made arrangements to ferry freedom fighters to the stadium from different places in the City. The buses will pick them up from Gandhi Bhavan, Sudama Nagar, Sethi Gate, Patrakar Colony Junction, Chhavani, Chimanbag, Marimata, Pardeshipura, Patanipura, Mahesh Nagar, and Tri Corner junctions at 7 am.
