Police today claimed to have obtained vital clues on Maoist activities in West Midnapore, Purulia and Bankura districts while interrogating a cadre Sushil Hembram arrested four days from Simlipal area in Bankura district.

"Information and vital clues have been found in the statement of the cadre who is believed to be a member of the Maoist guerrilla squad," police sources said today.
A 9 mm pistol, ammunition and Maoist literature were found on Hembram who was also suspected to have a hand in the recent killing of IC of Sarengra, R Moitra, the sources said.
The IC was killed during a Maoist raid on a CPI(M) leader's house.
Hembram, a teenager, was caught by villagers on Friday and handed over to the security forces. He was later produced in the court which remanded him to police custody for 5 days.
