Waiter films Russian woman in hotel, held

The Indirapuram police in neighbouring Ghaziabad on Friday arrested the waiter of a hotel in Kaushambi for filming a Russian woman on his cell phone while she was sleeping at her room.

The accused has been identified as Sunil Yadav, a resident of Siddharthnagar area of the city, said police sources.

According to the police, the 23-year-old victim came to the hotel on Thursday night along with her tourist guide Pradeep Kumar and checked in. "When the woman was asleep, the accused waiter entered her room and started recording her video on his cell phone. But soon, the victim woke up and raised an alarm," said a senior police officer.

The police said the hotel manager had tried to resolve the matter mutually and somehow convinced the victim to keep quiet for the time being.

But on Friday morning at 9.30am, when the victim’s guide came to pick her up, she narrated the entire episode to him. On the basis of a complaint filed by Kumar, personnel from Indirapuram police station raided the hotel and arrested Yadav.

"We have arrested Sunil Yadav and booked him under Section 354 of the Indian Panel Code. The cell phone of the accused has been seized and will be examined to establish his crime," said Rajesh Dwivedi, station house officer, Indirapuram police station.
