Is the foodie in you craving to explore the mouth-watering food of the city? Just go for a food walk with this group.

Food aficionados, here’s your chance to have fun, explore the city, interact with other gourmets and eat to your heart’s content. You can join a group of food lovers in the city and binge out at new eating joints and also try the older and popular ones.

Called the Food Enthusiasts of Delhi (FED), the group has around 3,500 members. "I love to eat! A city like Delhi is known for its food, especially street food," says Shashank Aggarwal, the founder of FED.

The members primarily operate through their Facebook page and mailing lists. "Suggestions, feedback, plans, and post walk pictures — everything is there on our Facebook page. We have an active mailing list, too, through which we spread information about the upcoming events," he says.

They meet every Saturday for a food walk. In their last rendezvous, they went to Sitaram Bazar through the lanes of Chandni Chowk. "Old Delhi has its own charm of food. We had ram laddu, kachori and many other things," says Aggarwal, who claim that it is the first and foremost community of food lovers in Delhi.

The group also has a blog, which is buzzing round the clock with the information about their latest food walks. "As a community, we eat, explore, raid, blog, talk

and share, anything and everything related to food," he adds. People from any age group can join the community, however, children should be accompanied with their parents. "We have members as young as 19, whereas some are even in their 40s," Aggarwal says.

The group doesn’t shy away from doing experiments— they eat at restaurants, road side stalls or anywhere they can find something edible. They are also clear about making payments. "We go dutch when we go to a restaurant. As far as food walks are concerned, each member pools in a certain amount, and a member, usually I, pay at all the eating joints," he says.

With plans for a Christmas day brunch, the foodies are ready to cash in the festivities of Christmas. Since the venue has not been decided yet, they are welcoming suggestions on their Facebook page or via emails.
