Corporator Mujeeb-ur-rehman ‘Babloo’ is notorious for his spats with the police. He is district president of the Samajwadi Party.

Maulviganj ward gets only 4 out of 10.

Rehmatullah of Bheri mandi says, “There has been organised encroachments in the ward. It’s even hard to walk on the road coming from Aminabad to Rakabganj. Traders have encroached all the footpaths. And now they have encroached the roads. In the years to come the ward would not be fit for living.”

Anurag says, “I don’t want to live here. I am thinking of leaving this locality.

Here security has become a problem. During the last few years, the area has witnessed a communal tension due to the corporator.”

“We have number of problems. Our roads are broken, we have sewer and water problems. Sewer is jammed where to go. I don’t understand,” says Nusarat.

However, corporator Mujeeb-ur-rehman ‘Babloo’ says, “I have always worked for the people. Never ever have I thought about the development of ward on communal basis. I am a man who has got a lot of love and support from the people of other communities.”

About the allegation of creating communal tension, he says, “I was not in the city when the riots took place. My opponents who got me framed in the case.”

About the development carried out by him he said, “I have relayed the water lines in my ward. Sewer lines were laid during my tenure. All the lanes were turned into cement coated lanes. Yes when people breach water lines, the pressure would reduce. I have carried out development work in all the parts of my ward.” “I am confident of my party’s win in the ward just because of development. Although I have left the seat for others, but those would be my works which will win the seat for him,” says Babloo.
