Three members of the Australian cricket team - injured leg spinner Shane Warne, batsman Brad Hodge and all rounder Cameron White - have returned home.

"Warne, White and Hodge left for Australia yesterday," team's media manager Jonathan Rose said on Thursday.

Warne was unable to play in the fourth and final Test against India, now in progress here, after fracturing the thumb in his bowling hand during a match-eve practice session. He played in the first three matches of the series.

Hodge and White were also sent home after they were not picked in the playing eleven for the last Test of the series for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
