Water crisis looms large in DLF Phase-3

With the summer inching closer, thousands of families living in DLF City Phase 3 are a worried lot due to inadequate supply of water in the area.

On an average, the colony needs around 5,500 litre of water per day but the supply of the resources for all the five phases of the DLF City is just 7,000 litre per day.

Though the DLF had promised to build a water storage tank in the area, but the construction work is yet to be completed.

The underground water storage tank being built in S-block will have the storage capacity up to 900 litre.

“The construction work will be completed by the end of this year and thereafter the water tank will be in function,” said Baljeet Singh, general manager (estate), DLF Estate Developers Limited.

According to the developer, some part of the colony is at higher altitude and people get water at low pressure.

“As the plan takes off, the people living in higher altitude areas would be benefited. The DLF has given the contract to a Delhi-based firm, SD Malhotra and Co, to construct and maintain the water tank,” Singh said.
