A picnicker met a watery grave on Monday while taking a dip in Donvat dam, about 50 km from here on Pen-Khopoli road in Khalapur taluka, police said on Tuesday.

The incident occurred when Vipul Sharma (32), a resident of Mumbai, had gone for picnic on Monday with some of his friends when he got into water to take bath.

He could not assess the deepness and as a result drowned, police said.
