Residents are shocked over how security guards failed to check the entry of miscreants into the gated area.

The robbery is a reminder that gated communities — guarded by private security agencies — are not always safer than houses in plotted localities.

Last month, armed robbers had barged into Heritage City, another upscale gated community on MG Road, by deceiving the guards.

Residents of these gated communities with 2-3 tier security cover say they do not feel secure.

“I have noticed guards letting people in without proper verification,” said Ashwini Narula, a resident of Block D of Exclusive Floors.

“We have paid a huge amount to stay in Exclusive Floors. But now we don’t trust the management. Next time, we could be targeted,” said Pooja Singh, another resident. Gaurav Chabra, another resident said, “There are no CCTV cameras and the guards allow anyone inside.”
