DAVV asks hostellers to vacate rooms in 3 days
WATER WOES have finally caught up with the Devi Ahilya Vishwa Vidyalaya (DAVV) administration, which conceding to shortage of water in hostels has asked those hostellers whose exams have ended to vacate their hostels within three days.
According to acting Rector Anil Sharma a three-member committee consisting of chief warden, Dean students welfare and university engineer has been formed by Vice Chancellor (V-C) CS Chaddha to evaluate daily requirement and supply of water.
The committee would meet every day at 10 am at university guesthouse and at 5.30 pm near the V-C office. The order issued states that those whose exams have finished should leave the hostel within three days and those whose exams are still continuing would have to get the fact verified from their Head of Department and present the same to the hostel warden.
Only one hostel for boys and one for girls would remain open during the remaining summer and boys and girls currently residing in various hostels would have to shift to these hostels.
To tide over water shortage it has been decided to supply water through tanker filled from the well located at Biotechnology Department and hire tankers from outside only if need be.

{{/usCountry}}Use of water from the university for carrying out construction activities in the university campus has been banned and the contractors would either have to arrange for water on their own or stop work for the time being. The university is also mulling over the proposal of purchasing a tanker and appointing a driver for the same.
