Where are the trains? Buddha asks Mamata

West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee has for the first time criticised Union Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee for “flagging off a number of new trains that cannot be seen”.

West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee has for the first time criticised Union Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee for “flagging off a number of new trains that cannot be seen”.

“I don’t understand what is going on here. Big advertisements are being issued in newspapers almost everyday about flagging off ceremonies. But I don’t see any of these trains running on a regular basis,” Bhattacharjee said.

He said sarcastically: “Now-a-days we get to hear about various new trains like Duranto (fast) train, Uranto (flying) train, Jhulanto (hanging) train. But where are the trains?”

Bhattacharjee, however, did not name Railways Minister Mamata Banerjee even once during the press conference at state CPI (M) headquarters at Alimuddin Street.

He also wondered what the six ministers of state of the TMC in the UPA government were doing in the past one year.
