Chris Patten in The power of the One (July 15) has stated that US President Barack Obama is loved by all for his charm and eloquent speeches. But this is not true. Obama’s popularity is rapidly declining. The reason behind this decline in popularity is that Obama could not live up to his promises of ushering in changes in US policies and instilling a new hope in people. Months after his taking over the top position, various problems remain unresolved. If he really wishes to bring a positive change into our lives, he should work towards fulfilling the promises he made in his presidential campaigns.
