"PDP, with the support of the people, will not rest till the goal of revocation of AFSPA and withdrawal of troops from the civilian areas is achieved," youth wing president of the party, Bashir Assad, said addressing a day long convention of youth activists of Kashmir at the party headquarters in Srinagar.

He said the recent upheaval in the state should serve as an eye opener to those at the helm of affairs as they cannot escape the responsibility of responding to the people's urge of repealing the draconian laws and withdrawal of troops from the civilian areas.

"Any delay in revocation of AFSPA and withdrawal of troops from civilian areas will only increase the people's alienation," Assad said.
