Winners in Naxal infested Gadchiroli get above 50,000 votes

All the winners from three naxal infested constituencies in Gadchiroli distirct have secured 56,897 votes on an average during the State Assembly elections for which counting was taken up yesterday.

Congress nominee Anandrao Gedam polled 41,257 votes in Armouri, Dr Namdeo Usendi of NCP got a highest among the trio, 67,542 votes in Gadchiroli and an independent Deepak Mallaji Atram (Aheri) mustered 61,894 votes. Atram had defeated former minister of state Dharamrao Baba Atram of NCP.

A total of 1,45,132 votes were shared by 13 candidates including Shravan Randhye of Shiv Sena in Armouri. Similarly 1,55,057 votes were polled in Gadchiroli and there were just seven candidates in the fray. Usendi defeated BSP nominee Manglabai Borkar (12,446).

In Aheri, Atram was locked in eight-corner fight where four with his surname (Atram) were in the fray. He defeated Dharamrao Baba Atram who got 36,697 votes.
