A woman has been arrested for allegedly murdering her husband after he opposed her illicit relationship with another man in Ladhawala locality in Muzaffarnagar, police said on Thursday.

30-year-old Raeesa was allegedly having an extra-marital affair with Rizwan, a servant. Her husband Shahnawaz, a trader, opposed the relationship between Raeesa and her paramour and the couple had frequent fights over the issue, Superintendent of Police Akash Kulheri said.

On Wednesday, Raeesa and Rizwan killed Shahnawaz. Both the accused have been arrested, he said. Raeesa was produced before a local court which sent her to 14 days of judicial custody.
