Woman, daughters die after consuming poison

A woman and her two daughters died, while another daughter was critical, after they allegedly consumed poisonous substance in Lalpur taluka of the district, police said on Tuesday.

The incident took place late last night in Pipali village where one Labhuben (35) made her three daughters Sangita (8), Dharmishta (6) and Manisha (4) consume poisonous substance and later drank it herself, they said.

Labhuben, Sangita and Dharmista died on the spot, while the four-year-old Manisha whose condition was critical was undergoing treatment at the GG Hospital in Jamnagar.

Primary investigations suggest that the woman had taken the extreme step because of financial problems, they said.
