FIVE DAYS after a man was stabbed to death on suspicion of illicit relationship with a woman, the latter was found dead in her parental house in Jehangirabad on Friday.
It is suspected that the woman committed suicide owing to social ignominy after her husband killed the person with whom she allegedly had relations.
Police said Arti, 25, was found hanging from the ceiling on Friday morning. Her family members informed the police and the body was subsequently sent for post-mortem.
During preliminary investigations, the police found that Arti was tense ever since her paramour was killed. Arti reportedly felt that she had brought disgrace to the entire family.
The deceased’s husband Gulab is still absconding. He had allegedly stabbed Kailash to death near Rambha Talkies on Sunday. Gulab suspected that his wife had illicit relations with Kailash.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident, a woman was robbed in Jehangirabad late on Thursday evening. The complainant, Shanti, had taken a tempo from Barkhedi to Indrapuri when a youth travelling in the same tempo snatched her gold chain and took off near Pul Bogda.
By the time the complainant realised that she had been robbed, the accused had disappeared. The police have registered a case of loot.
